Westmoreland Conservation Commission

February 4, 2010 – Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order at 7:06 pm with Marshall Patmos (chair), Paula Page and Selena Gallen in attendance.

The minutes from the January 7, 2010 meeting were read.  No errors or omissions were noted.  Paula moved to accept the minutes, seconded by Selena and all voted to accept the minutes as read.

Old Business

Conservation Plan – Monadnock Conservancy is still working on updating the final copy.  We need to let them know which maps we would like color coded.  After reviewing the maps it was decided to color code the Priority Conservation Values map and add the industrial and village zones (page 38).  We again noted that the Legends on all maps be consistent for easier interpretation.

Zoning – There was nothing new noted on the proposed update on the Zoning Ordinances.

Cersosimo Gravel Pit Permit – Members attended the joint meeting and felt there is no Conservation Commission follow-up needed at this time as we had sent a letter to the Planning Board with our findings portions of which were referred to at the meeting,

New Business

Roadside Clean-Up – The date of the 2010 Spring Roadside Clean-up is Saturday, April 17.  We will do planning for this event at our next meeting. We will have to get the records of routes and names of previous volunteers. It’s hoped that someone will come forward (either Commission member or others) to spearhead the effort and do much of the work Jeff Smith did last year and Jim Blake  before him. Marshall will check on bags as he feels we have enough in storage for this year.

The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 4.

Selena motioned to adjourn, seconded by Paula, all in favor.  The meeting adjourned at 8:01 pm.
