Dave Putnam called the meeting to order at
PUBLIC BUSINESS:
Greg Heyn, Department of Revenue Administration
Property Appraisal Division Real Estate Appraiser, explained the assessment
review guidelines including what will be looked into. Greg was pleased with our
assessments and praised Jim Rice for a fine job.
ACCOUNTS PAYABLE:
Dave motioned to accept the manifest in the amount of $38,841.15.
Russ seconded the motion seconded All in favor so
voted.
SELECTMEN'S MINUTES:
Russ motioned to accept the minutes of April 17, Marjorie seconded the motion.
All in favor so voted.
NEW BUSINESS:
Sharkey abatement request: This will be acted upon at the next meeting as more information is needed.
Intent to Cut Timber:

Three pistol permit renewals were signed, a new pistol permit was sent to the
constable, Jim Cemorelis.
Marjorie voiced a concern from a neighbor regarding the
Transfer Station hours. It is open Wednesday and Saturday from

The selectmen discussed the hourly pay for out interim Administrative
Assistant, Bob Moore, who is doing an excellent job. Dave made a motion for the
fee and Marjorie seconded it. All in favor so voted.
Because of the recent newspaper article regarding our police department, the
board reaffirms that we expect no change in our police coverage and are not
advocating the acquisition of a police vehicle.
OLD BUSINESS:
Post Office floor: We are waiting for a price for cleaning and polishing the
Post Office floor and as it is quite worn, Marjorie will ask Monadnock Flooring for a price for re-tiling the lobby
area.
Jim Merritt came by to discuss the Town Hall renovations. Although none of
three local builders contacted were interested in bidding on the job, Bob Moore
will get three bids for the renovation of the kitchen,
rest room, and selectmen's office. The storage area will be worked on at a
later date.
Bids were received for mowing town owned grounds for the season (22 weeks).
Dave made a motion to accepted Jason Simino's bid.
Russ seconded the motion. All in favor so voted.
Bids for next year will be requested in the Fall so
the Town Budget can reflect the true cost of mowing.
Russ Martens asked to use tables, chairs, and 2 coffee urns for the Community
Forum at the
Permission was granted to Danny Shelley from the Westmoreland Snow Belters to do what ever has to be done to the trails to keep the snow machines from sinking.
The board briefly discussed a "Junk Amnesty Day"
