WESTMORELAND SELECTMEN'S MINUTES

December 20, 2007

 

 

PRESENT: David Putnam, Wesley Staples, Marjorie Merena, Scott Fifield, Sean Parent and Tina Cutter

 

David Putnam called the meeting to order at 7:01 PM.

 

PUBLIC BUSINESS:

Sean Parent was in to submit his resume and meet with the Board of Selectmen regarding his interest in becoming a part time police officer for the town of Westmoreland. David explained that we have a lot in the works, also remodeling the Selectmen’s Office and explained that a police department is subject to the Town's vote. Jim Cemorelis had asked the board of Selectmen to meet with Sean because of Jim's recommendation for a couple of part time officers for full time coverage.  No action taken at this time.

 

Scott Fifield was also in to meet with the Board of Selectmen regarding his interest in becoming a part time police officer for the town. Scott was also recommended by Jim Cemorelis. No action taken at this time.

 

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE:  Wesley Staples moved to approve the Accounts Payable Manifest in the amount of $36,377.23 Seconded by David Putnam. All in favor, so voted.  

SELECTMEN'S MEETING MINUTES of December 6, 2007 were approved and moved by Wesley Staples. Seconded by David Putnam. All in favor, so voted.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

A Permanent Application for Property Tax Credit/Exemptions was submitted by Michael Henchey. David Putnam moved to approve the application. Seconded by Wesley Staples. All in favor so Voted.

 

A Permanent Application for Property Tax Credit/Exemptions was submitted by Paul M. Wright. David Putnam moved to approve the application. Seconded by Marjorie Merena. All in favor so Voted.

 

Notice of Intent to Cut Wood or Timber – William & Linda Schreiber – Map R13 Lot 24 South Village Road & Map R7 Lot 13 Glebe Road. David Putnam moved to approve the Intent. Seconded by Marjorie Merena. All in favor so voted.

 

The Board of Selectmen has accepted a Quote by David Bulger for $1115.00 to paint the interior of the Post Office. The job will be done between Christmas and New Years.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

The Board of Selectmen met with the Fire Department on Tues. December 18 and discussed the reasons for the straight stipend. The Fire Department voted and accepted it.

 

           

WARRANTS:

Gravel Tax Warrant – Earle McClening Map R9 Lot 31. David Putnam moved to approve the warrant. Seconded by Wesley Staples. All in favor so voted.

 

David Putnam moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:30pm to go into a Non Public Session. Seconded by Wesley Staples. All in favor, so voted.

 

NON PUBLIC       

 

David Putnam moved to Seal and adjourn the Non Public meeting at 9:05pm. Seconded by Wesley Staples. All in favor, so voted.
