WESTMORELAND SELECTMEN’S MINUTES

March 15, 2007

 

PRESENT: David Putnam, Wesley Staples, Marjorie Merena, Maynard Zimmerman and Tina Cutter.

 

Chairman David Putnam called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.

 

 

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE

            David Putnam moved to approve the Accounts Payable Manifest in the amount of $23,649.52 Seconded by Marjorie Merena. All in favor, so voted.

 

 

 

SELECTMEN’S MEETING of March 1, 2007 was approved and moved by Wesley Staples. Seconded by David Putnam. All in favor, so voted.

 

 

 

NEW BUSINESS

            The Board received a proposed resolution from Richard J. Feldman, Esq. with the Cathedral of the Pines. The Cathedral of the Pines proposed the United States Postal System to issue a stamp featuring the Cathedral of the Pines located in Rindge, with its inspirational view of Grand Monadnock, the most climbed mountain in the world. Marjorie Merena moved to approve signing the proposed resolution. Seconded by David Putnam. All in favor so voted.

 

            The Board received a letter from Attorney Bradley regarding the sales Agreement for Route 12 - Map 14 Lot 31 Attorney Bradley informed us of recent correspondence to keep us current in the Route 12 – Map 14 Lot 31. No action taken at this time.         

 

            2007 Local Officials Workshop - Marjorie Merena and Tina Cutter will be attending a workshop on Thursday, May 10 from 9am – 3pm. The Selectmen’s Office will be closed that day. David Putnam moved to approve the workshop. Seconded by Wesley Staples. All in favor so voted.

 

            Notice of Intent to Cut Timber was submitted by Ginger Maxwell for Map 19 Lot 20. David Putnam moved to approve the timber cut. Seconded by Wesley Staples. All in favor so voted.  

 

            The Board received a letter from the New Hampshire Division of Historical Resources. The letter was to congratulate the town of Westmoreland on the listing of the Corner School House to the New Hampshire State Register of Historic Places. The work of the Westmoreland Historical Society was an important part of this designation. A certificate was enclosed and will be giving to the Westmoreland Historical Society to be displayed at the Corner School House.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

WARRANTS:

            Timber Tax Warrant – David Putnam moved to approve a Timber Tax Warrant to Craig Staveth – Map U6 Lot 3. Seconded by Wesley Staples. All in favor so voted.

 

            Timber Tax Warrant – David Putnam moved to approve a Timber Tax Warrant to Michael & Dianne Beccia – Map 12 Lot 28, 29. Seconded by Wesley Staples. All in favor so voted.

           

            Timber Tax Warrant – David Putnam moved to approve a Timber Tax Warrant to Brian & Lorna McMaster – Map 4 Lot 20. Seconded by Wesley Staples. All in favor so voted.

           

            Timber Tax Warrant – Wesley Staples moved to approve a Timber Tax Warrant to Arthur Cooley – Map 5 Lot 1. Seconded by David Putnam. All in favor so voted.

 

 

ABATEMENTS:

             Property Tax Abatement – Mansfield: David Putnam Moved to approve a Property Tax Abatement from Michael & Carla Mansfield. Seconded by Wesley Staples. All in favor so voted.

 

 

REFUNDS:     

            Property Tax Refund-Sienkiewicz: David Putnam moved to approve signing a Property Tax Refund for Edwin & Mary Sienkiewicz. Seconded by Wesley Staples. All in favor so voted.

 

 

 

David Putnam moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:40 PM. Seconded by Wesley Staples. All in favor, so voted.
