WESTMORELAND SELECTMEN'S MINUTES

May 17, 2007

PRESENT: David Putnam, Wesley Staples, Marjorie Merena, Russell Kotfila, Walter & June Derjue, Russ & Pam Martens, Maynard Zimmerman

Wesley Staples called the meeting to order at 7:07 PM.

There is a correction in the Minutes of May 3, 2007: Gary Hudson was in to give the Board of Selectmen an update on the Bessie Smith Bridge replacement. The Minutes should have read Bessie Pierce Bridge replacement. David Putnam moved to approve the change. Seconded by Wesley Staples. All in favor, so voted.

Russell Kotfila was in to discuss the Town Cemeteries and to inform the board of their troubled conditions and to figure a way to keep them cleaned up. No Action taken at this time. Mr. Kotfila informed the Selectmen that Chaffee Cemetery has a tree down, the Board will take a look at this and figure out what course of action will need to be taken to remove the tree.

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE
       Wesley Staples moved to approve the Accounts Payable Manifest in the amount of $3,462.03 Seconded by David Putnam. All in favor, so voted.

SELECTMEN'S MEETING of May 3, 2007 was approved and moved by David Putnam. Seconded by Wesley Staples. All in favor, so voted.

NEW BUSINESS
Notice of Intent to Cut Timber was submitted by Family Homestead Industries, Susan Horton for Map 14 Lot 57 on the Hurricane Road. David Putnam moved to approve the timber cut. Seconded by Wesley Staples. All in favor, so voted.

OLD BUSINESS
The Board of Selectmen received an official notification of the Town 2006 Total Equalized Valuation. The Board of Selectmen accepted the Valuation.

Transfer Station – The Board of Selectmen discussed contacting Waste Management for an extension. Board of Selectmen will then place and ad in the Keene Sentinel for an individual to work Wednesdays and Saturdays until a long term plan is finalized.

WARRANTS: Timber Tax Warrant for James Bowes, Map 9 Lot 18. David Putnam moved to approve the warrant. Seconded by Wesley Staples. All in favor so voted.

Timber Tax Warrant for Jesse & Amy Ross, Map 10 Lot 5. Wesley Staples moved to approve the warrant. Seconded by Marjorie Merena. All in favor so voted.

Timber Tax Warrant for Jeffrey Kofoed, Map 10, Lot 10, 14. David Putnam moved to approve the warrant. Seconded by Welsey Staples. All in favor so voted.

Timber Tax Warrant for Charles & Susan Horton, Map 14 Lot 57. David Putnam moved to approve the warrant. Seconded by Wesley Staples. All in favor so voted

LETTERS TO BE SIGNED
The Board of Selectmen received a Workers’ Compensation Multi – Year Agreement. David Putnam moved to sign the Agreement. Seconded by Marjorie Merena. All in favor so voted.

David Putnam moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:55 PM. Seconded by Marjorie Merena. All in favor, so voted.
