WESTMORELAND ZONING BOARD MINUTES

July 10, 2007

 

Present:  Peter Remy-Chair, John Burt, Brian Merry, and Russell Huntley.

Absent: Barry Shonbeck, Brenda Shelley, and Alternate -April Ferguson

 

Chairman Peter Remy opened the meeting at 7:30 with ten people present in the audience.

 

There were two appeals before the Zoning Board for this meeting.

 

The first appeal was for Steven Burt, which was a rehearing due to an incorrect notice being placed in the Keene Sentinel.  John Burt recused himself from the Zoning Board for this hearing as he has an interest in the appeal. 

 

Chairman Remy explained to Steven Burt that as there was a quorum for the Zoning Board, three members present, he gave Mr. Burt the option of going forward with only three Zoning Board members present or the meeting could be continued until a full board was present.  Mr. Burt informed the Chairman he would like to have the hearing continued to next month with a full board present.  Chairman Remy presented the request to the Zoning members present and with a unanimous vote the hearing is continued until the August 14, 2007 meeting.

 

At this time John Burt resumed his position on the Zoning Board.

 

Don and Mary Myers Hearing- Jim Ferdette, father of Mrs. Myers, was in to represent Don and Mary Myers at this hearing.  A special exception is required per Article 5, Section 501, Table 502 of the Westmoreland Zoning Ordinance.  The property in question, Map R15 Lot 36 is in a Commercial/Industrial District and the Myers would like to build a single family house on the property.

 

John Burt moved to accept the application.  Seconded by Brian Merry.  All in favor, Application accepted.

 

Chairman Peter Remy discussed the criteria for the Special Exception with the Board members and all criteria for this hearing were met.   The driveway will be on Route 12, and there is 501 feet of road frontage on this property.  John Burt moved to approve the application for Don and Mary Myers, seconded by Brian Merry.  All in favor, so voted.

Application accepted.  It was noted that the Myers would need to present a Site Plan Review to the Planning Board for their approval.  Mr. Ferdette stated he would inform the Myers.

 

Brian Merry moved to adjourn the Zoning Board Meeting.  Seconded by Mr. Burt.  All in favor.  Chairman Peter Remy adjourned the meeting at 8:00 P.M.
