WESTMORELAND ZONING BOARD MINUTES

September 11, 2007

 

Present:  Peter Remy-Chair, John Burt, Russell Huntley, Barry Shonbeck, and Brenda Shelley.  Absent: Brian Merry

 

Chairman Peter Remy opened the meeting at 7:30 pm.

 

There were two appeals before the Zoning Board for this meeting.

 

The first appeal was for Mark and Karen Currier who requested a Special Exception to build a single family hone in a Commercial/Industrial District. Map U1 Lot 8-1. Tom Flavin represented the Curriers.  Mr. Flavin presented a map showing where the house would be in regards to the property. The property is 4.06 acres at this time.  The Curriers are going to the Planning Board for approval for a lot line adjustment, the increase of 1.38 acres from Map U1 Lot 8 will give them a total of 5.44 acres.  It was noted that the Curriers will share an existing driveway with Mr. & Mrs. Forrest Robinson.

 

John Burt moved to approve the request for a Special Exception to build a one family house in a Commercial/Industrial District, with the understanding the house would be build in the location shown on the presented map.  Seconded by  Brenda Shelley.  All in favor, so moved.

 

 

The second heard was for Steven Burt, John Burt, and Arthur Burt for a variance of Article 4, Section 414, to place a driveway off Hartwell Mill Road, a class six road, and for a special exception of Article 4, Section 414 for a shared driveway for property on Tax Map R8 Lot 43.  This lot is in the Medium Density Residential Zone.

John Burt stated he was speaking for himself, Steven Burt, and Arthur Burt and informed the Zoning Board they were withdrawing their request for a Variance.  No further action taken.

 

Nicholas Gladkey was in to speak with the Zoning Board regarding a retail product store he would like to open in the Industrial Park on Route 12.  Mr. Remy explained as the property is owned by Joji Robertson she would have to apply for the Special Exception, or Mrs. Robertson may have Mr. Gladkey  represent her in this case.  Mr. Gladkey was informed filing would have to be done before September 24, 2007 to be heard at the October meeting.  Mr. Gladkey stated he will speak with Mrs. Robertson.

 

Mr. Burt moved to close the meeting.  Seconded by Brenda Shelley. All in favor.  Peter adjourned the meeting at 8:10 PM.
