Selectmen's Minutes
November
13, 2008
PRESENT:
Dave Putnam, Marjorie Merena, Russ Austin, Mame O'dette, Mark
Edgington, Nancy Ranson,
Jean Rudolph, Pam and Russ Martens
-----
Dave called the meeting to order at 9:09 AM.
PUBLIC BUSINESS:
Mame O'dette Came in to
discuss her placement of delineators in the
road by her house. She agreed to remove both delineators and the
trailer that is in front of her small barn.
NEW BUSINESS:
Four unpaid property taxes, subject to lien, were discussed. One will
be abated, one needs clarification of ownership, and two will be
taken to the Town Attorney for advice.
Jean Rudolph questioned the division of her properties. After
discussion with Jim Rice, it was agreed that Jean should file a
request for an abatement and her records will be
corrected.
Jim Rice was made aware of two tax bills that needed corrections. He
will visit those properties and make any needed corrections. Also,
some property owners had questioned small acreage discrepancies in
their tax bills compared to previous years. For those questioning
their acreage, letters will be sent to them requesting a copy of
either their land survey or their property deed. Upon receipt, our
town tax maps will be corrected accordingly.
OLD BUSINESS:
An e-mail was received from owners of a property alleging that the
owners of another property were in violation of a town ordinance.
Some discussion of this followed. No decision was made by the board.
Discussion will be continued at the November 20 meeting.
At
seconded the motion and all approved.
