ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT

 

December 11, 2007

 

 

Present:  Peter Remy, Barry Shonbeck, John Burt, Brian Merry and Russell Huntley.  Absent:  Brenda Shelly.

 

Chairman Peter Remy called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM.

 

 

Mr. & Mrs. John Matthews Jr., requests a Variance of Article V, Section 501B, Table 504 (Minimum lot size) of the Westmoreland Zoning Ordinance.  The Matthews wish to build a single family house on Depot Hill Road in a Commercial District. Map R17 Lot 54A.  The house lot is under the five acre minimum for that area.  Map R17 Lot 54A is an existing lot.  After discussion by the Board a motion was made by Barry Shonbeck to continue the request until the next scheduled meeting to give the Board time to obtain more information.

 

 

Broadridge Investments request a Variance of Article IV, Section 401 and 401 to place a driveway on Patton Road, Map R13, Lot 8A.  This lot has less than 50’ of frontage. In reviewing the five criteria for approving a variance, Brian Merry moved to deny the request to have less than the 500 feet frontage on a property as it is contrary to the spirit of the ordinance.  Seconded by Barry Shonbeck.  All in favor.  Request Denied.

 

Regarding the placement of the driveway, Brian Merry moved to deny the request for a driveway as it was contrary to the Zoning Ordinance.  Seconded by Barry Shonbeck.  All in favor.  Request Denied.

 

With no further business John Burt moved to adjourn the meeting.  Seconded by Brian Merry.  All in favor.  Chairman Peter Remy adjourned the meeting at 8:30 PM.
